Monday, Nov. 10 (and Thursday, Nov. 6)

Last week was a busy one, as Kitah Dalet-Hei prepared to lead the Torah Service at Jr. Congregation. Their hard work paid off, and they did a wonderful job! I was so proud to see them confidently and capably lead us on Shabbat morning.
Also on Thursday, the students began creating their final projects, for which they will design a virtual museum to showcase artifacts from biblical times. They chose the app with which they will be working and created the welcome/intro page for their museum.
The students have also been working hard on a new project that will demonstrate the mitzvah of "Kol Yisrael Arevim zeh b'zeh." Today they researched 3 causes that interested them, and brainstormed how we can support those causes: alleviating hunger, helping doctors fight Ebola, and supporting the IDF. If they are interested in another cause they would like to share with the class, they may research it over the weekend and bring in some information to present next Monday.
Finally, all of the students took the Mivchan (assessment) for Ramah 3 today. This involved applying their written knowledge and oral reading skills. All of them passed; all of them got 80% or higher on either the written or the oral sections; and many got 80% or higher on both!
Another belated Mazel Tov to Anya Ditkoff on being the Mensch of the Month for Tishrei!
