Feb. 10, 2014

On Monday, the students completed and presented their projects on the book of Judges. They are all wonderfully creative! I am looking forward to sharing them with you in the next couple of weeks.
They also began to learn "Bei Ana Rachetz," the final prayer on our list for the Torah service. To practice, students can go to www.sidduraudio.com , and click on "Torah Service." "Bei Ana" begins at the 2:56 mark.
Finally, we also began to explore what Jewish sources say about "Shmirat HaLashon" (guard your tounge), our mitzvah focus of the semester. For homework, I have asked the students to write down one instance that they see of words being used to help, and one instance of words being used to hurt, before class on Thursday.
To start a conversation with your child about KIRS: Ask them why they think words have power.
